Sports Development

Number Twelve on Our 12-Point Agenda

Number twelve on our 12-Point Agenda for the good people of Ogun State—when I am given the mandate to serve as Governor in 2027—will be Sports Development.

Sports is more than recreation. It is health, discipline, opportunity, and global recognition.

Across Ogun State, thousands of young people possess incredible athletic talent. What they often lack is structured opportunity, proper facilities, and professional support.

My administration will establish youth sports academies across the state, creating pathways for young athletes to develop their abilities and compete at national and international levels.

Community sports centers and stadium facilities will also be improved and expanded so that every local government area has safe and accessible places for young people to train, compete, and grow.

Schools will play an important role in this effort.

Sports programs in primary and secondary schools will be strengthened, allowing talented students to be identified early and guided toward professional opportunities.

Talent discovery programs will be introduced across communities to ensure that promising athletes—whether in football, athletics, basketball, table tennis, or other sports—are recognized and supported.

Our athletes will be encouraged and prepared to participate in regional, national, and international competitions, proudly representing Ogun State and Nigeria.

Through sports, many young people will be able to build successful careers, earn global recognition, and create prosperity for themselves and their families.

Sports also strengthens communities, promotes teamwork, and inspires a spirit of excellence.

Under my administration, Ogun State will become a breeding ground for champions and a center of sporting excellence.
